Cabbage Ferment Party with Ferment Pittsburgh

October 8th, 2017 12:00pm - 4:00pm

Join Ferment Pittsburgh for an afternoon of preserving the autumn cabbage harvest.

Ferment Pittsburgh will provide heaps of local, organic cabbage for participants to prepare as sauerkraut, kim chi, and pickles to nourish their homes with this winter. A variety of different sized containers will be sold for attendees to fill, and experts will be on hand to guide and answer questions. No experience is necessary. Seasoned fermenters are encouraged to share tips, experience, and are welcomed to bring current projects.

This event drop-ins are welcomed however pre-purchasing tickets helps us determine how much cabbage to bring. For each pre-purchase 1 quart size, we'll provide an additional FREE 1 pint container.

*Cabbage is local and organic from Brenkles Organic Farm and Greenhouse.

*Be.wild.er Farm will be on-hand selling additional vegetables to help spruce up your ferment.

*Demo/ workshops will be scheduled throughout the day. TBA

This event is free to hang-out at, but each purchase contributes to local and sustainable agriculture.
